Our DIY Wedding

After a year of preparation (yup! we took a year to prepare for it),
finally we're officially married!! XD. To be honest, getting married is not an easy job.
(Phew~ finally is over)
If you're in the mist of planning for your wedding without hiring wedding planner,
a piece of advice, get yourselves a copy of wedding planning checklist. You can search
online or use the smart phone apps. I used the wedding plandroid apps. Like it!
It helps you to get everything done from A-Z.
I'm not going to tell everything from the start until the end because it's to lenghty,
basically I just followed everything from the checklist. Haha. So let's fast forward to the night.

This was the venue for our wedding reception-32 At The Mansion.

32 Mansion is a fine dining restaurant situated near upper penang road.
Their vintage and romantic ambiance is just what I wanted for my wedding reception.
However the restaurant can only cater for a small scale wedding.
Mine is about 100 guests so it's just nice.

Notice the flower decor and the jar lantern? It's all part of our DIY projects.
Special thanks to my colleagues for the jars. XD.
We spent 41/2 hrs to get all these done! Thanks to Eejoe(my bridesmaid) and Suzanne
(my aunt)for being my part time florist. Well done! I'm no sure how much it cost for
a florist to do it but it only cost me RM 250!!
I bought the flower from a wholesaler which is much cheaper than the florist shop.

Our guestbook. You can get the free thumbprint guest book  at Wedding chicks.
I bought the colour ink pad from Daiso.

Still remember the Mr +Mrs and photobooth props? XD it's fun!!
Wedding favor from Ritz cakes and pastry.

Wedding cake by a young couple. This was their first wedding cupcake tower.
Great effort!

I'm so glad that our guests were so impressed by our DIY projects.
Our efforts has paid off (Sob~). Thank you so much especially to David and all
my family members for their time and handwork!!

Where did I get the ideas for those DIY projects?
Here you go~

Wedding Preparation:Photobooth Props

Nowadays a lot of event planner do provide service to set up photobooth
for wedding dinner to keep your guests entertained. But their package is quite pricey.
So I decided to DIY my own photobooth. For the props you can get the printable
pictures from here. Just save the files and print it on a card stock, but my printer
can't feed in card stock so I print it on a ink jet paper and stick it on a card stock instead.
For the stick, I bought it from a gift shop. It's not the normal "satay" stick
we get it from hypermarket, It's a bit longer and thicker. Here's a photo taken with
a ruler for clearer illustration.

Just use a hot glue gun to glue the stick on the pictures.
Tips:Don't glue all the stick on the same side. Means that, glue some on the
right and some on the left. Why??Beacuse some people might want to take 2 props
for a photoshoot. So they can hold it one on the right and another on the left. It's
better that 2 props on a side, a bit awkward right?!
For the backdrop, I will just leave it to the event decorator to do it.
Done! I save at least a few hundreds for making my own photobooth. YAY!!

Wedding Invitation card

Here is our wedding invitation card.

Yes, I took the photo of my miniature and make
it like a postcard type of invitation card.

I didn't choose the traditional pink colour envelope
but I use a normal brown envelope which
you can get it easily from any stationary shop.

Since my hand writing is not that good -.- so I decided to
write the guests name by using the alphabet rubber stamp.
For female guests, the envelope is decorated with lace
while for male guests...mmm...lace I think is a no no for them.Lol

These are my newly bought post-mark rubber stamp.
Cute right!?

Wedding Preparation: Groomsmen bow tie

 On my actual wedding day,
the morning session theme is rainbow colour.
All my bridesmaid will be wearing rainbow colour dress
and of course we can't left out the groomsmen!
The groomsmen must have something to match the bridesmaid.
So I decided to handmade a rain'bow tie' !!

You need:
rainbow colour fabric (I used non-woven fabric),
needle, thread, scissors, ruler, pencil, elastic braid and pression button.

Here's the step-by-step tutorial

Hope the groomsmen like it!!!lol

Wedding Preparation: Jar Lantern

Ever wonder what to do with all those empty glass jars?
The ones from spaghetti sauce, jam and mayonnaise?
Actually you just need a little bit of effort, it can turnout to be a cute jar lantern.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Remember to apply some diluted white glue around the
glass surface so that it secure the lace on it.

It can also be a lovely vase.

Don’t they look great?!
I'll be using these glass jar as my wedding reception centerpieces.
These will definitely add great ambiance to my wedding dinner party.^^

Suitcase makeover

I found this father's time suitcase at my grandma house.
She was going to throw it away. Wait~~just give it to me...
Of course I'm not going to carry this to the office, I guess nobody will..
but it is good for keeping your things and as a vintage decor. Love it..
First of all, remove all the inner liner of the suitcase.

Second, choose a nice fabric.
Since I want it to be a vintage suitcase,
I chose a floral printed fabric with a brownish shade.
Third, measure the suitcase, cut the fabric according to the size.
Fourth, apply a thin layer of diluted white glue (mod podge is the better choice though)
on the surface of the suitcase.
Fifth, spread the fabric over the suitcase surface,
be patience as sometime it is not easy to get a neat makeover.

Ta da~~~Love it love it love it....

3rd Dollhouse competition ! Theme主题 = 童话世界 Fairy Tale
